This year is different. Now that I am officially done with school, I can make more time to focus on my passions and career.

For some reason, every time I begin to write this post, all I can think of is Sharpay Evans in High School Musical 2, with the hope that this year will, indeed, be fabulous. A year full of fabulously written stories, fabulous books, and fabulous conversations. To be honest, the word “fabulous” is one of my least favorite words that I usually reserve for sarcasm purposes only. Anyway, I digress.

To make this year as good as it can be, I am planning on getting two drafts of my book written. As I am still plotting out the storyline, I really did not intend for it to be as lengthy as it is becoming. So, I am a little nervous about achieving this goal. Additionally, I hope to post at least one blog post per month on this website, along with any books I care to review. If you are a writer, what are your writing goals for this year?

As for reading, I have increased my Goodreads goal to 50! I generally am against setting a number for a reading goal—a blog post on this coming soon. The root of this goal is to spend less of my free or empty time scrolling through social media. What are your reading goals? Rather than set a number, are you trying to read more of a particular genre? Slow your reading pace down? Or conquer your mile-long TBR? I would love to know.
